MOTOR VEHICLE

Proof of Insurance must be shown before vehicle registration will be issued.

2.9% state sales tax, 2% county sales tax and 2% Hugo or Limon resident city sales tax will be collected on all new motor vehicle and trailer purchases.

All specialized license plates are not currently available.  Fees according to plate type.

DRIVER EXAMINER

Office Hours: 8am -12pm, 1 - 4:30 pm

A $20 surcharge will be added to all non-Lincoln County issued driver's License documents, effective June 18, 2007, per Lincoln County Resolution #654

Certified copy of birth certificate required for first time applicants and to replace a lost document.  (Birth certificates issued by a hospital are NOT acceptable.)  Social Security number is also required.

Proof of Insurance and current vehicle registration required for test drives BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  NO TEST DRIVES WILL BE GIVEN AFTER 3:30 p.m.  

No Motorcycle drive tests.  Written Motorcycle permit tests available.

Written CDL tests are available at this office.

Fee schedule:  Renewal - $21.00 /CDL renewal - $35.00 (Must have current DOT physical)

Duplicate license (minors and CDL only) - $7.50 for first duplicate, $14.00 for each duplicate thereafter

Permit - $14.00

ID card - $10.50

WE ARE NOT A REINSTATEMENT OFFICE AND ARE UNABLE TO PRINT DRIVING RECORDS.

DOCUMENT RECORDING

$6.00 per page Recording Fee.  Multiple page documents; first page $6.00, following pages of document $5.00 each.  Documentary fee charged on all documents granting or conveying title to real property.  $.01 per $100 consideration if consideration is greater than $500

REGISTRAR OF VITAL STATISTICS

Birth and Death records for Lincoln County only.

Written request or personal appearance along with a copy of your Drivers License or State I.D. card required to obtain certified copy.  First copy - $17.00, $10.00 for each copy thereafter.

MARRIAGE LICENSES

Both parties must be present.  Proof of Age (must be 18 or have parental consent) and Social Security Number are required.  A marriage license will not be issued more than 30 days prior to the marriage ceremony.  Previous divorce dates and courts through which obtained are also a requirement.  Fee - $10.00
